David Chinyama is a Fine Artist.

David Chinyama

Born in Harare, Zimbabwe on the 10th of February 1978. His early teens as a boy growing up on a farm , rising from humble beginnings with seven siblings crammed in a four roomed farm house to becoming a house hold name on the zimbabwean arts landscape reveals the determination and hunger of accomplishment that lies within someone who sees himself not only as a painter but a visual poet and social commentator.

Though faced with lots of criticism, discouragement and rejection from family and friends for his love, passion and decision to pursue the visual arts as a career.

Studied at the Peter Birch School of Art, Harare from 1995-1996, then from 1997-99 he received a National certificate in Visual Art, Visual Art School, National Art Gallery of Zimbabwe, Harare
2000-2001 he studied fine arts, Harare Polytechnic.

David received an outstanding student award from the Visual Art School, Harare, Zimbabwe in 1998, and in 2004 he received the outstanding visual artist of the year (painting) National Arts Merit Awards, Harare, Zimbabwe
